The artblog of Kristen Plescow, filled with random doodles and finished pieces.

Another much-delayed post!

The winner of the StarCityGames.com Somerset Invitational (July 26-28th), immortalized in goblin form. An unusual token in that it features not only Erik, but his late friend Vincent DeFalco — nicknamed Goblin. Erik wrote a lovely article about his friend and how that friendship influenced his interest in Magic (and I recommend you all read it! It’s a heartwarming story). ;u;

As you might see with this one, my WIP sketches can sometimes evolve depending on changes (in the first chosen sketch, Erik was going to be gesturing to a small goblin platoon behind him) — Vincent needed to be added in and I felt Erik’s smile seemed best-suited to looking off to the right rather than directly at the viewer.

Usually these are started and finished within a week, which is a fun challenge when balancing other deadlines. This one took longer, and I learned a lot to streamline the process for the future. :)
